Discussion on the novel “The Leopard” [“Il gattopardo”] by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa translated by Maria Spyridopoulou (editions Bell, 2017). The novel was first published in 1958 and since then it has been among the most important novels of the Italian and the world literature. In 2005 Maria Spyridopoulou was awarded a prize for her translation into Greek by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2nd workshop on Classic Spanish Literature initiated by the awarded translator and Spanish language teacher Ismene Kansi. The second session focused on Miguel de Cervantes’ play “El Retablo de las Maravillas”, entremés, [The Marvelous Puppet Show, interlude] translated into Greek by the students of the Cervantes Instituto de Atenas. It is a one-act play published in 1615 in a volume of theatrical plays entitled “Ocho comedias y ocho entremeses” [“Eight Comedies and Eight Interludes”] that were never performed on stage during his lifetime.
