“Sympraxi – Partnership for Gender Issues” is a voluntary nonprofit organization in Thessaloniki. In cooperation with foreign institutions it organizes since 1999 the annual “Thessaloniki International LGBTQ Film Festival” and screens short and long films produced around the world. This Festival incorporates speeches, discussions and photography or painting exhibitions. Moreover, “Sympraxi” participates in the organization of the Thessaloniki Pride (every June) and takes part at the Network of Voluntary Organizations of Thessaloniki. Moreover, it takes part in a radio broadcasts. Volunteers cooperate with the organization in preparing the above mentioned film festival and they reclaim this opportunity to express their initiatives. Especially, they are proposing films who they like to be screened, they translate dialogue lists of the films and they take care for the reception of the audience and the invited film directors. New volunteers are welcome.
