
Presentation of the collection of poems “Anacoda” (Gavriilidis, 2018) by the famous jazz saxophonist and university teacher Dimitris Vasilakis. Speakers: Argyris Koskoros, IWTCR librarian and philologist and Vasilis Mantikos, civil engineer-poet. The following musicians played live: Dimitris Vasilakis-saxophone, Nestoras Vasilakis-saxophone, Aris Solomon-drums, Sassa Papaplambrou-piano, vocals, Nastasia Beikof-vocals and Monique Kabasele-vocals. During the event the aforementioned female artists presented their ideas and experiences about the principles of the jazz democracy and the role of women performers in jazz. The presentation took place within the context of the “Jazz Democracy” two-day festival/forum under the direction of Dimitris Vasilakis and followed on from the event that was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York last April.
