Educational and Production Institute for Documentaries. StoryDoc is specialized in providing background and know-how for co-production of documentaries in the International scene. Its aim is to organize seminars and sessions for dignitary and new filmmakers in a close partnership with International Institutions and to provide consulting services for documentary development in all the producing steps, from the idea to final cut and distribution to international market. At the same time, it
organizes special training workshops for school and university students in different cities in Greece.
There are 3 permanent employees and approximately 3- 5 freelancer experts and trainers occasionally for the workshops and the activities.

1.THE LIFE OF THE OTHERS Production of 10 short documentary films made up by youth in 5 countries: Greece, Malta, Palestine Morocco Algeria with the theme - The life of the others. The stories which documented were from the life of different ethnic, religious groups and minorities in the 5 countries. We achieved it with a series of training workshops made by tutors from the leader and the partners who followed up the production of the participants. With press events in each country, FB pages, and a networking among the participants that created spaces of dialogue and spread the values of intercultural dialogue, democracy diversity. The main outcome: Public screenings of the short films in each capital city. Athens/Greece, Valeta/Malta, Ramallah/Palestine, Taza/Morocco,Batna/Algeria
2.The Unknown Life Of The Others The objective was to encourage and train 12 youths from Germany and Greece in participation in workshops and work together on shooting documentaries in both countries. The youths discovered topics in the 2 societies in the period of financial crisis, which doubted the nationalistic stereotypes. The results: a) 6 documentaries made up by mixed groups of German and Greek youths. The films broadcasted by the Greek public television (ERT). The film “Athens Calling” won a special prize at Jugendkulturpreis nrw 2012. The 6 films participated in the “Festival Cinema and Realite”, Athens Nov.2012. b) A bilingual edition with 12 stories and 6 films distributed in high schools in Greece and Germany. location: The objective was

3. AegeanDocs International Documentary
Film Festival 2012 - today Film Festival with up to 100 films from Europe, Asia and the Middle East. 25 theaters in 11 islands in the Aegean. The main venue od the festival is location: Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Rhodes, Siros and 6 small islands of Aegean
4.StoryDoc training program 2012 for students of Universities The objective was the development of documentaries for Greek Students. The program lasted 4 working days of intensive training with experienced tutors and a long term personal
consultation. Results: 2 films, developed in the program, are finished and participated in Int. Film Festival of Thessaloniki 2013: “A Day from the Life of Thanos Lipowatz”-Panagiotis Kravaris and Massage by Lara Kristen location: Thessaloniki Greece
5.Ramallah Doc 2012 3days Workshops - Participants from Ramallah and Gaza (video conference) with 4 kinds of sessions: Lectures, presentations and masterclasses by the tutors. Group and individual meetings. Public screening of documentaries. Pitching session. The results were the selection of 4 projects for further development
by their participation to Leipzig StoryDoc workshop 2012 (the expenses covered by HBF) and the production of 1 DVD with the 18 short films.
6.Make Your Film 3 days Production workshops with 90 participants with the aim to produce films made by youth from Lesvos without cinematographic

Home New Home The project titled “Home New Home” aimed to address the refugee crisis and recorded it in short documentary films, as well as to highlighted the views of citizens from six welcoming countries that serve as temporary homes in the refugees’ way to a better future. Syrian, Afghans, Iraqis and Palestinians refugees and citizens from the welcoming countries took part in workshops on how to make a short documentary. The workshops were held in six cities that receive refugee flows: Athens and Lesvos in Greece, Izmir in Turkey, Tyrin Lebanon, Amman in Jordan and Ramallah in Palestine.
Most of the participants caught the camera for the first time. Everybody was educated in cinematic narrative in intensive seminars in Greece, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine by established directors and academics in schools, universities and refugee camps. Watch here the fascinating stories they created in the Home New Home project. The project was consisted by a wide network of partners: Municipality of Athens and Lesvos, Open Schools. The activity Home New Home is implemented in the framework of the Athens Open Schools program an initiative run by the City of
Athens, Regional Development Fund of Attica, Anna Lindh Foundation, Goethe Institut, while the website hosting the action and the training of the refugees have been implemented thanks to a donation of Stavros Niarchos Foundation. The action Home New Home was under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Telecommunications and Information Policy. 48 short films were produced.
Trainers, experts and staff come from the film and audiovisual industry, with many years of experience in the area of production as well as in training.
